Francesca Borgioli is Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Florence. She she was graduated in Physics at the Faculty of Mathematics in 1995 and in 1999 she took her PhD in Material Science and Technology. Her research activity is documented by more than 110 publications on international and national journals and on proceedings of international and national congresses. The activity regarded and regards the production, characterization and optimisation of modified surface layers, obtained with advanced techniques (glow-discharge, PVD, plasma spray) on metal alloys and with improved characteristics as corrosion resistance, tribological properties and biocompatibility. In particular, her main research topic regards low-temperature thermochemical treatments. |
